Located on California’s Pacific Coast, Ventura County is ranked as one of the 100 highest-income counties in the country and as the sixth wealthiest county in California by per capita income. Ventura County and Conejo Valley, also referred to as the Tech Coast Area, has a large and growing presence of technology corporations located in this region. With many telecommunications, healthcare, development, and biotech corporations employ a large percentage of professionals in this area. The beach communities and the Ventura Harbor provide a great deal of entertainment and tourism to this region. Ventura is famed for the quality and frequency of the surfing conditions at spots such as Surfer's Point at Ventura County Fairgrounds. The Ventura Harbor Village has fishing boats, seafood restaurants and a retail center. The Channel Islands National Park Headquarters is also located in the harbor and boats depart to the Channel Islands daily. Downtown Ventura is home to the Mission San Buenaventura, museums, galleries, dining, and shopping. Primary areas of activity include California Street and Main Street between Ventura Avenue and Fir Street. Pierpont Bay is a residential neighborhood in the one-mile stretch between the Ventura Harbor and San Buenaventura State Beach.
